Logistics Due Diligence

Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption. A supply chain is the system of organizations, people, technology, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer.

As experts in supply chain management, SCMO advisors are experienced in assessing and evaluating supply chains. We offer operational due diligence/ audit of the supply chain of any company in all industries, including those in the logistics sector, and propose solutions to improve it. We sometimes accompany some recommended implementation, which can also be done internally or subcontracted.

The following case study demonstrates how SCMO approach has been successfully applied to client issues.

A mining company needed to improve its supply chain, which was the result of successive historical changes, rather than an up-to-date optimized solution. We flew a team of 5 advisors to the client 's isolated site. The complete operational due diligence lasted for 3 months, keeping to a strictly planned timetable. The audit report proposed a number of possible improvements, part of which were implemented by SCMO in another 2 month assignment. This operation resulted in an optimized supply chain, and in more than US$ 10 million per year of operating cost savings.
